Mat Kearney Impressions

Took me a while to get back to this, but a promise is a promise!

I love this album. It is definitely a change from what he did before, as there is much less rap influence and certainly more Nashville/Southern influence. It seems like he took some of his songwriting style from some of the deeper, emotionally moving songs on Nothing Left to Lose and brought them to bear on this album.

My personal favorites from the album are:
All I Have (Regular and Acoustic Versions)
Fire & Rain
Closer to Love
City of Black & White

Some of these songs are just great jam songs, with meaningful lyrics. They also just catch my heart in the right place. Great album. Pick it up.

John Madden Retired Today!

Alerted by a twitter from Ashton Kutcher, I found out that John Madden Retired from Football today! Pretty crazy!

Facebook is down

Wow. Facebook is actually down.

Just started an advertising campaign on Facebook for Twitterpray

The title really says it all, but I just started an advertising campaign for Twitterpray.com on Facebook.

So far, I have had 17 clicks from Facebook and over 60,000 impressions. Hopefully, I am driving traffic from facebook to the site. Pray that it helps people find the site.

Also pray that Adsense accepts my site as completed so i can add ads to the site. I need to start offsetting my cost there!

I just launched Twitterpray.com today

It is a utility that searches and displays, in real time, the prayers being requested and offered on twitter. I hope it both encourages you and also brings you to your knees in prayer. There are a ton of broken people needing prayer putting their hearts out online.

Oscars

Is it a guilty pleasure that I love to watch the Oscars? There is such a pack of famous/beautiful people all in one place. It is just like a blackhole... it sucks me in and doesn't let me go!

I really like to see the production of the show, and also who shows up to give the awards, and of course... seeing who wins!

It was great to see Heath Ledger's family accept the posthumously awarded Best Supporting Actor. I am glad that they were able to accept the award, even though I thought we were going to see Christopher Nolan or Christian Bale accept it.

The dresses were pretty. The production quality was really nice. A lot of films won some well deserved awards. I love awards shows!

Twitter-pated

It has been a crazy few days of finding new Internet addictions. And I mean that in the best way possible. One of the most important and favorite tools I have been using is twitter. I just love it!

To be fair, I have been tweeting for the last several months, but over the last week I have really gotten deeper into the twitter culture and really have enjoyed learning about the features of the service and individuals who are popularly followed on Twitter.

I am addicted.

Triumphant Return? Well I hope so...

It has been a while since I have posted to this blog. I really want to, and I think need to, continue to post things on here. I want to bring some thoughts to bear, discuss some issues, and really just post my thoughts on my life.

I really don't care if anyone reads it. And I think I wrote this like I did care, at least the last several posts. So, this will be a new adventure.
