Car Maintenance

I just had to get my brakes completely replaced. Well, maybe 3/4 of the way replaced. Very expensive, but I am thankful that it was caught before they went out or something. The car is paid off, which is awesome. Now it is just the maintenance to keep it running.

Maintenance is always cheaper than a years worth of car payments, thats for sure. Gotta keep my old camry running smooth! She has treated me well over the years.

Back to work now!

Worship Leading Opportunity!

Good news!

I just talked with Paul from Ecclesia and I am setup to lead worship for our All Church Retreat coming up in April. I am really excited to be able to serve during the retreat in this way. Hopefully it goes well. If anyone reads this on Google Buzz, or stumbles across this... please give me any ideas you have for songs you would like to hear!

The retreat is the second to last weekend in April, I believe. If you are in Houston and go to Ecclesia, make sure you go! It was awesome last year.

Mat Kearney Impressions

Took me a while to get back to this, but a promise is a promise!

I love this album. It is definitely a change from what he did before, as there is much less rap influence and certainly more Nashville/Southern influence. It seems like he took some of his songwriting style from some of the deeper, emotionally moving songs on Nothing Left to Lose and brought them to bear on this album.

My personal favorites from the album are:
All I Have (Regular and Acoustic Versions)
Fire & Rain
Closer to Love
City of Black & White

Some of these songs are just great jam songs, with meaningful lyrics. They also just catch my heart in the right place. Great album. Pick it up.
